What resolution is it really?
Instagram serves avatars at around 320 px, sometimes more if the person uploaded a big image. We deliver the maximum available, without inventing pixels.
Can I save a private account's avatar?
No. Without a public profile there's no accessible image.
What if the profile has no picture?
Instagram returns its generic image; in that case we say so instead of handing you an empty file.
